Varun is a technologist with broad experience in several fields, from running Linux-based BBS systems in the pre-internet-boom days, to writing about technology and open source software at PC Quest, CHIP, Digit and Network Computing, to creating India's top online technology brands such as TechTree and Tech2, to hosting technology shows on CNBC, TV18, CNN-IBN and ET Now. He led large Web & Application development teams as CTO at Network 18's web division and built the highly scalable technology behind large websites like IN.com, MoneyControl.com and various other portals.

Justin BarneyPresident & COO
As President and Chief Operating Officer for ScaleArc, Justin Barney oversees sales, marketing, business development and operations. Prior to ScaleArc, Justin was Vice President of Sales for Software in the Americas at Juniper Networks, where he joined via the acquisition of Ankeena. He served as Vice President of Sales at Citrix Systems, and as Director of Sales at NetScaler. He received an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Justin also served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1992-1998.

Uday SawantCo-founder & Chief Architect
Leading the engineering team at ScaleArc, Uday has over a decade of development experience across a wide range of environments. From having led the team that built one of India's first online examination initiatives to building the engines that power sites like MoneyControl.com and IN.com, Uday has deep experience with scaling, securing, and achieving resilience with web and database environments. His command of established and emerging development standards has helped ScaleArc architect a reliable, flexible and versatile solution.

Greg MarekChief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing Officer, Greg is responsible for overseeing all marketing strategy and initiatives, and building ScaleArc’s marketing team. Before joining ScaleArc, Greg was Vice President of Marketing at Confirmit, a global leader in SaaS solutions for voice of the customer, employee engagement, and market research. Prior to Confirmit, Greg was Vice President of Marketing at MarketTools. Greg also led the corporate marketing team at NetScaler, a pioneer in application delivery controllers, and joined Citrix as Sr. Director of Worldwide Marketing after its acquisition of NetScaler. Earlier in his career, Greg held marketing leadership roles at Oracle, Borland, Novell, and Intuit. Greg earned a B.A.S. dual degree, with distinction, from Stanford University.

Kevin MartinVP of Sales (North America)
Kevin is the Vice President of Sales, North America and has over fifteen years technology sales experience in the Application Delivery Controller, Database, Real Time Monitoring and Content Delivery markets. Prior to ScaleArc, Kevin was Director of Sales Major Accounts for F5 Networks. He also served as RVP Sales Central & Western US for Coradiant (acquired by BMC) and with NetScaler (acquired by Citrix) as Director Sales.

John VastanoVice President of Worldwide Customer Support and Services
John has over 15 years of experience running customer-facing technical teams, and is responsible for global customer support, training and professional services at ScaleArc. Prior to ScaleArc, John led Technical Operations at Juniper after its acquisition of Ankeena Networks, where he served as Senior Director, Technical Operations. He has built and managed services teams at both large companies and growing startups including Citrix, NetScaler, Jasper Wireless and Aerohive Networks. John earned a Ph.D. in nonlinear physics from the University of Texas at Austin and undergraduate degrees from Texas A&M University . John holds 11 U.S. patents in networking.
Deepak PatelDirector of Product Management
Deepak has over 14 years of experience in the networking space with roles in product development, sales engineering and product management. Prior to joining ScaleArc, he was the Product Manager for NetScaler at Citrix Systems. He has deep experience with HTTP/SQL scaling, optimization and high availability. He received an MBA from Santa Clara University and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (KREC) India.

Gaurav GuptaDirector of Engineering
Gaurav has 10 years of experience in file systems, network protocols and building high-performance I/O systems on Linux. Before ScaleArc, Gaurav worked as a founding engineer at CloudVelocity, where he helped build the industry's first hybrid cloud platform. He also worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Symantec, Cisco Systems and NeoPath Networks, and is a contributor to OpenStack. He received an M.S in computer science from University of Maryland, BC, B.E from Pune Institute of Computer Technology, India and certification in International Business Management from University of California, Berkeley. Gaurav currently holds 3 US patents.
