DealerSocket’s SaaS offering empowers more than 10,000 auto dealerships and 300,000 users across the United States, Canada and Australia. Recently, DealerSocket’s customer base has grown, and given the worldwide locations of auto dealers on their platform, there is no time for downtime. “If we’re not running, our dealers’ businesses aren’t running,” said Atkins.
Atkins and his team scaled Dealersocket’s infrastructure to keep up with its incredible growth but found the toughest infrastructure piece to bullet proof was the database. To vastly reduce downtime, DealerSocket rebuilt its data platform, upgraded its database to support scaled out infrastructure, and added ScaleArc, database load balancing software that ensures that apps are never down, always fast, and scale anywhere.
